Housing is a basic need that plays an important role in an individual’s well being, health, safety, and quality of life. StreetLight currently provides Permanent Supportive Housing for 25 individuals who are either disabled, medically fragile or considered “chronically homeless.” Implementing the “Housing First” approach, StreetLight provides scattered site group housing of the same sex. Each individual receives his/her own bedroom and shares common living areas such as the kitchen, and living room. All houses provide a safe and nurturing environment which promote optimum lifestyles and individual success.
Supportive services for residential clients include:
- Case Management
- Life Skills Support
- Job Readiness Program
- Assistance with application for mainstream services such as disability benefits & food stamps
- Referral and placement coordination to Recovery Programs
- Transportation to job interviews/doctor visits
