What do we do when nothing seems to be going our way? Our own Rose Powers reminded us this morning of the story of a great victory, from 2 Chronicles 20.

A vast army had come together to defeat the Lord’s people. The enemy force was so strong they seemed certain to overwhelm the defenders. But the King called all of the people – men, women, and children – together to stand before the Lord and seek His help.

They stood shoulder to shoulder. They were so desperate that their prayer ended with “We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”

God responded to them by telling them, through a prophet, that they would not have to fight the battle. All they had to do was take up their positions; stand firm, and see the deliverance that the Lord would give them.

We need to stand, shoulder to shoulder. We can set aside our divisions, cliques, and anything the separates us from each other. Together – men, women, and children – let us seek the Lord’s victory, our eyes on Him alone.
